I was searching info on the lowest temps gars can tolerate, specifically gators in my case and found this great article.

No problems Miguel, it takes alot of the confusion out of dealing with gar identification and answers many other questions about the known biology of the various gar species in their natural habitat.
I really like the fact the guy is a trained Zoologist like myself.
 
I would like to see a follow-up on this article. I am curious on the genetic makeup of the Rio-Frio gars vs alligators and other tropicals. Maybe this guy is looney but who knows.
 
I think if your interested in gar this is a must read article.
Fisherman have alot of ancedotal evidence to add to general gar biology and distribution that scientists can use and verify.
