About 2-3 months ago, I noticed a white looking fluke thing on the side of my Chocolate cichlid. I treated with the jungle internal parasite tablets, and a bunch of them started coming out of his head, and went away after a few treatments/waterchanges. Well yesterday I noticed one pop up on his side again, and I treated (tablets, temp up a bit, and salt). Today, the things are coming out of his head like crazy, again.. They only came out right after I started treating, I imagine froim being dealt with.. He doesn't seem affected at all, eats like a pig, and is his normal self.. Nothing else is affected in the least bit either, just him. I keep my water around 80, params are great. This started happening when I got another fish, but was removed for a while before the first time this popped up. Anything?

You can kinda see the original one right behind his fin..

That's odd. Try touching it gently. Does it get peeled off easily? What are the ingredients of Jungle Internal Parasite tabs?

Active ingredients are praziquantel, diflubenzuron, metronidazole, and acriflavine.

Ever since I treated, they seem to be going away more and more every day. I was just wondering if these were the parasites coming out of him, and why it's mainly in just his head area (there were a few on the lower fins), and what they are. As far as touching them, it's not a growth, they are actually strands coming out of him, I'm pretty sure..

Ahh..That's a broad spectrum and should have eliminated possible bacterial infection especially with acriflavine in there. It does not seem to eliminate possible fungal infection so we can't rule out fungal infection yet. It's very strange to see this confines itself in the head area only. When those strands grow, were they on the same area where the old strands grew? It would be interesting to note this one. I was opting to suggest iodine solution but this is very tricky since it's near the eye and gill area.

Thanks Lupin. During the week they pretty much went away, I'm going to clean tank/re-treat in a bit and will let you know how it goes. If they come back, I'll get the tweezers for Alyssa's satisfaction.
