Trop Gar growth rate?

Just wondering how fast these guys can grow?
I know Sol has a 19'' trop that is 5 years old.

Just wondering as I'd like to grow one out with 2x 4'' IT dats in a 30''x12''x22''

They grow about 4 mm a day until around 16 inches.. Different variables will change this.

Wow.
That is quite an exact answer.

I was wondering about how many inches a month/year though.

It is variable and depends.. on average 2 to 4 inches per month until around 16 inches. Again it is variable...There is no set rule that applies to all situations..

I was looking for a slower growth rate though.
As I wouldnt want it harming the dats.

Maybe I'll try a Florida/Spotted once the dats are larger and are moved into there permanent home.
Possibly an aro of some sort.
