some of you may remember my wifes daycare room setup with the 55 gal community tank and 75 gal bearded dragon tank
well if not here is before

not to bad but it needed something so i upgraded it
the first thing i did was build a hydroponics box so i could grow plants
i did this by simply building a box and lining it with a old pool liner and then plumbing it out
\
pretty rough but works
then i built a overflow for the tank

works awesome btw
then i finished plumbing out the tank

used an old ten gal as a sump
didn't get pics of the pump but it is a little giant pond pump rated at 50 gals per hour at 3 foot head very small pump indeed
slow moving water is the key

here it is all up and running with lava rocks filling the grow bed

now that is as rough as it gets but wait theres more

here it is all done and i think it looks fantastic

so what do you all think
i have tomatoes and cucumber seeds in there and hoping for the best
wish me luck

thanks for looking
mike

btw thats cherry and bamboo hardwood

Probably Spring. I'll keep the Indy people updated. You'll have to come to our next get together. You missed the fireworks on the fourth, I thought I might have to take Rallysman and Ammerman to the hospital. They were firing enough ordinance to bring down a small jet. It's a good time every time I come to Indiana, even if I have to drive through 400 miles of corn.

That turned out very nice. Is the pool liner plat and fish safe? I only ask because many folks in the pond arena don't like to use them because many times they're treated w/ algaecides. I have no experience w/ them, but figured I would ask.

Nice set up...I wasnt expecting the last pic either...looks great... Got a couple of questions for you:

1) what did you use to seal the pond liner around you drain bulkhead?

2) What you using as a growing media...it looks like soil in the pic!

3) Could you walk me through how you pannelled it. I got a project I'd love to have look like that! I guess you scewed on ply, then cut straight bits to do the squares, and use skirting? around the bottom, but how do you do the uprights? And the ledge? Looks great!

Lol...ply...sorry mate I take that back! I was wonder how you got such a nice sheen on it!!!!

I really thought King Edward would have asked it but I will, Where's the electric fence that keeps the kids (and dog) out? :D

Very nice job, by the way.
