Many of us have monster tanks and or like myself many tanks. I am well aware of low to no cost food for my fish but what about chemicals. Like dechlorinators and such. What do you use and where do you get it. I have looked around and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/Pond-Dechlorina...=39:1|66:4|65:1|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 you get enough to make up dechlorinator for 30,000 gallons of water for under 15 bucks. It sounds like a monster deal or is it? If not what do you use and why.

Great price for declorinated water, I asked the seller what it is...we'll see if he answers...

i use API stress coat and zyme... and it adds up lol
but i think its some great stuff

"Dechlorinators" are great for removing chlorine, but what about chloramines? Heavy metals? Etc. Etc. ?

As far as i know this stuff does nothing for heavy metals. And for chloramines it breaks the bond and then gets rid off the chlorine And your bio filter will have to deal with the left over trace ammonia. i have thought about the heavy metal deal alot and i just can't get over the fact that we are drinking these metals and that is fine by are goverment. So I have concluded if its fine for me then its fine for my fish. LOL----------I will test this stuff out in a feedr tank and test for chlorine a few minutes after the WC and let you all know what happens.

Ok a little update here. I got the crystals in and mixed up my solution of 4oz(1/4lb.) in a gallon of water and let it set over night to dissolve. The next day i did a 50%WC on my feeder tank and then tested the water for chlorine about 5minutes after the tanks was full and before the filters were turned on. And I found zero chlorine in the water:headbang2. I then tesed for ammonia just to see about the chloramine bond and i also found nothing. Or atleast it was such a small amount that our aquarium test kits could not show it. After a few days with no fish loss or signs of problems in the feeder tank i then went ahead with my WC schedule and changed the breeding tanks and the Htat (payara) tank and have had no ill effect what so ever. I would recommend this stuff to anyone that wants to save some money. The price is under 16bucks shipped and it treats 60,000 gallons if you mix it in a solution. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------let me know if you decide to give it a try and what you think. There is also a good read on wikipedia.com about this sodium thiosulphate that may interest you.
