Just thought i would share.
i wanted to do some moon lights in my newly (still cycling) 75 gallon.
So i went to walmart and grabbed a 60 light strand of blue LED christmas lights for 3.50, and a 50 cent roll of electrical tape.
what i did was stretch the lights out, fold it over once, and fold it over again. i taped them all together around the cord and around the lights, and they just taped them in the light bar. im planning on actually putting them inside the lightbar and cutting holes the the mirrored plastic for them to stick through, just taped them to the inside to see how well the lighting was.
heres the tank when i got it: got a deal on it. this was a budget build!
here is the tank repainted:
here it is cycling w/ the light on (with the moonlights installed, but not on obviously):
heres what i did for a temporary switch, free...off the christmas tree we took down today:
Here is what is the temporary mounting:
And here it is with them on!:
So, while it might not be the fanciest, nicest setup or way to do it. its certainly great for broke people like me that enjoy the dim night lighting. and the fish love it too!
