Disclaimer: Now this may not be a good choice for everyone when it comes to logistics as you would most likely have to move your tank to get it done, but I might have access to the right equipment to make this easy.

Anyone done any research into spray in bed liners as a water proofing element? This site lists shrimp tanks, animal enclosures, and soft water tanks as possible applications. This stuff is nigh on indestructible and comes in a variety of colors. Why not?

That's intresting! If its safe for shrimp it should be ok for the fish right? I wonder what the cost comparison is to regular pond armor.

Pond armor is certified for potable water. Bed liner is not.

You take a risk at your animals expense when you use something other than tested products.
just talked to the guy here at the local place .. he said he does huge water jugs that are going to iraq to hold drinking water for the troops ..

i would say your wrong .. it is certified for potable water ..

Lots of people say lots of things.

There is nothing on their site that says it's certified for potable drinking water. Even if they do send it to the guys in Iraq that doesn't mean that it's safe. The government is probably testing it on them. My husband was in the army and I have a healthy distrust for them. They don't care about the soldiers, they are just numbers. If they think they can get away with using something that hasn't been certified safe but would save them money I bet they wouldn't hesitate to use it. I think I'll wait until they provide proof that it's safe.

well since there are people drinking out of it .. and it shows it on there site ... and they put there name on it .. i would say they are more then likely correct .. what research have you done to say otherwise ..

can you back up your claim against there claim..

and .. are you just not another person saying some .. you fall into your own statement

just talked to the guy again .. it is 100% potable safe from the company .. they do all kinds of tanks for livestock and even for hatcherys so that means its fish safe .. the problem is that its $9 sqft on plywood so for my 6'x3'x2' it would be almost $500 which is a little much .. but from talking to the owner of the 3 places in my area its safe

interesting concept and I dont see any reason this wouldnt work.I just dont know if over years of constant submersion-if the rhino lining would erode or wear away?
