Where would be the best place to purchase some Aquarium Silicone, but in larger tubes, and hopefully at a near-wholesale price. I plan on using a caulking gun, so that is why type of size i am talking about.

I'd like to re-silicone a bunch of my tanks, but I don't want to spend a fortune doing it.. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Petco carries 10.5 oz. tubes at $6.99 a tube and with a card gives 10% discounts. You might aslo contact All-glass aquariums.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be cheapest of all to get 100% clear silicone at the local hardware store? Isn't that the same thing or would that not be suitable for aquariums somehow? I used this kind (made by GE) but it was for my windows! About $6.00 per tube if I remember right.

Yeah that is what I was thinking..

Oddball, Didn't you mention something about Indoor Bathroom Silicone? Would it be fish safe?

I was looking at them at the hardware store the other day, but it's tough to say what would be safe for the fish..

Home depot, lowes GE type 1 silicone

I used ASI #502 silicone on one of the tanks that I had to repair. I think that I picked it up at Home Depot.

I don't understand why anyone would want to use something different from a product explicitly intended for a job. It's not that big of a price difference. Hell, the peace of mind alone is worth the price difference.
