If I'm not mistaken (let the pros correct me if I'm wrong) the tea cup is the smallest aka Histrix. I think they max out at around 15-18" in Disk size excluding the tail

what size is your tank.... 180(6x2x2) is the bare minimum for a stingray.... the smallest species of rays are damn near impossible to get... retics hystrix and humerosa all can reach 18"+ disks and @ that size a 180 is too small your then looking @ a tank footprint of atleast 8'x3'x2' bigger is always better....

24" motoros have been recorded frank posted one saying it was 30" disk and the tail length im not too sure on... ive seen large rays with large tails and small tails... motoros are alot nicer looking than retics wich are kinda blah imo.... wich is why i would go motoro

I would think big.. 2ft easily like you said. And again people shouldn't forget to factor in tail size when thinking about max ray size. My tiger is 14" disc length with tail is easily 20"+

I would go for a motoro too as any ray will need a decent size tank and a motoro is much hardier IMO.

FW Alantic Rays stay smaller but totally different look from other rays IMO and long tail again.
