Hey all check out my new sump. its a 50 gal sump on a 80 gall tank with 30 gals of media space and 1200 bio ballz i will take photoz tommorow. y is it diy even though i paid fer it? coz i build fish tanks and sumps so i built it at work.

sump size compared to tank. yes the tank is on the ground still waiting on stand been waitin fer 4 weeks and counting. might get it this sunday but prob not.

how would i cyle it?. i cant connect it to a tank as tank is on the floor as well. so can use grav? and ive got a filter in there that ill chuck in the sump so itll seed the sump quick as
Just let the pump recirculate the water in the sump (one end to the other) and feed it ammonia like a fishless cycle, the tank is just water storage, it's the filter that gets cycled. When you set the tank up you just treat the water in it for chlorine/chlorimine and hook the two together.

havnt set it up yet. dr joe do u recomend i place a valve on the pump and have it pump to the topof the driptary so its running like asump? also idont need to treart my water i use a carbon filter off the tap with like three hardcore carbon chambers so water changes are easy!!
my boss has had a resun pump on his reef tank for 15 years. not the same model and hes only had to replace the impeller 3-4 times
