I went into Walmart and found this product that looked like a vertical alarm clock but it was meant for a betta. The top was meant to house the fish which was not much bigger than like !/2 gal. the other part was meant for the person to program whatever music they like to listen to while viewing the fish. I personally think that is so cruel for so many reasons. Can't the fish feel any vibration music would cause? Not to mention the small living conditions. I just wanted to know anyone elses opinion or if they have seen this??

I think that bettas shouldnt be kept in bowls or the like, I have one in a 2.5G tank with filter...heat...lighting...live plants and decor. Hes a very happy fish noticably and I couldnt imagine anything less. Just because they can survive in a cup doesnt mean that it should have to.

There are all sorts of products that are made that are ridiculous.

I saw an ipod attachment for betas which is probably the one youre talking about. I also saw a picture frame that was a beta tank. It was probably 2 - 3 gallons in size and actually pretty neat but it was made by a local I think. You could hang it on the wall and it had a little hatch on the top to feed through etc. Probably one of the more humane beta keeping devices actually lol.

i have to admit that would be kinda cool but that is pretty ridiculous

At the store I work at we have these stupid rings that you fill with water and put bettas in. They have to swim in a vertical circle. There can't be more than a half gallon of water, and very little gas exchange. I call them the "Rings of Death".
