got a 2" fahaka today and seems very healthy other than a white ball on one side of his gills, looks like a tiny piece of styrofoam(you know what i mean, its not really styrofoam). tank is at 79f and i added 4 tbls. of salt(40g growout tank). i was wondering if i could add seachem paraguard or if this was bad for the puffer? it looks like i could pull the thing off with tweezers but i dont want to harm him, one slip and i could really hurt him.

Net him & while keeping him under water, pull it off. Add Melafix, to prevent infection & promote healing. Start saving for a huge tank!

Great! Don't hesitate to put the lil fella into the big tank now. Might look a little strange having such a small puffer in a huge tank but he'll love all the swimming room & will reward you with good growth.

tried to pull it off but it aint comin off. added melafix because im shure yankin on it did some harm. EDIT: got it off. once i pulled it off it was about 3-4mil long and 1 mil wide, tried to inspect it but lost it in the sink. fahaka seems fine.

That's good! Now keep a close eye on the parameters, doing large water changes to keep it pristine, so infection doesn't set in. Add Melafix daily.
