Ive got 8-9 CLs in my african cichlid tank that range from 1-4". i got a modesta(3") in my wifes tank and i know adding him to the 150 is a no no. just wondering what other loaches i could mix with them w/o aggression problems. these new additions need to stay small 2-4" and preferable be single specimins that are active and may school with the CLs.
Heres a few details about the tank.
Standard 150g, sand with large stacked rocks and few artificial plants.
temp:77*, pH: 8.1, filtration: 2-350biowheels, 350gph canister, 1050gph total.
6 frontosa (3-5")
leleupi 3"
brevis 1"
caudopunctus 1"
julidochromis (marlieri, ornatus, dickfieldy) 2"
L. careoleus 2"
C borleyi 3"
8-9 CLs 1-4"
2 clown plecos 3"
madtom catfish 2"
4 apple snails

bumpti bump. i see at least 3 CL fans on now, why do i still not have any replies?!! get with it people!!:feedback:

The Clown Loaches I have seen in higher pH tanks with aggressive africans typically end up with poor color and nipped fins. I'd move those to a species tank, and get a Modesta for snail control. Those clowns are too valuable to be performing cleanup.

only the spot loach and the 4bar are pale and that only because they are the newest. the other seven are deep orange with dark black bars. they are very active and lay on the rocks and drift wood most of the time. they three larger CLs like to lay on their side near the fron of the glass.
