Went in a LFS store yesterday they got nothing special in stock. So I asked the employee there when can they get some good fish in like big Aro, Dats, and other oddballs. They couldn't get any of those in for a while now, but he have mention that they got almost 24" Silver Aro outback where he's in a sump :WHOA: I was like WTF?? 24" Silver Aro in the sump for a good 6months or so. He was to big to put him in the tank out side, so they have to put him in the sump at the back room. :WHOA:

I really feel bad for the poor fish and ask them how much they want him for. Not mention any price but yes a LFS so it's very overprice. So I complain about him being in there for 6month, complain that he has drope eyes (he doesn't but LFS don't know about arowana), complain about he doesn't swim.

About an hour talking to the owner to lower the price down, I got him to where is reasonable price but it's still expensive.

So I toke the guy home and here he is.

NO Eyes drop, Perfect condition, very active and swiming all over the place. He's in 180g for now untill I find him a bigger home. 180g is better the a sump at LFS. Did I do the right thing?:D

also my collection.

I say yes, great looking aro...how much did you end up paying, good deal if you paid anything under $200 as the fish looks in good shape.

Nice dats, you grow them up yourself or buy them big?

much better than being stuck there for 6 months and probably forever. at least you will probably be able to find a better home for it than they would've, but by the sounds of it, it would've been in there for the rest of its life. they should've given it to you, IMO.

You did the right thing STICKY:), There is NO way I would let an arrow that big live in a SUMP!!! That guy must have been misrable:irked: Such a beautiful specimen. At least now the fish will have a better quality of life for sure

nice addition...

It really looks in top shape, maybe it wasn't so miserable in the sump as we think?

I think you did the right thing also, and I like your setup. I have a question though: I have a silver, and its the only aro Ive ever had, so I think Im a bit of a novice, but is that a jar I see in your tank? It looks to me like youve got a silver, a jar, and an asian. Am I right? Im asking because I was under the impression that a jar would more than likely flip one day and attack the other aros, and the dats as well probably. Just asking though, as I am a novice in the area, and just looking for some more info.
