Hey guys. I am looking for a little help here. I am putting together an article to help differenciate H. carpintis and H. cyanoguttatus. I have a cyano myself so I have pics, but I've not owned (for very long anyway) H. carpintis. Anyone willing to help me out? I need pics of juveniles, young adults (5-6 inches) and adults (8 inches +).

I am also going to do a small piece on H. carpintis sp. Escondido. I'd need the same age phases for the Esco as well.

Thanks for your time guys... and gals. :D

here's a pic of my carpintis. its not very good, but its all i have!

These were mine 6 or 7 months ago at 1.5". And the second pic was a month ago at about 5.5".

Mine look different from the others posted so far. Rapps said these came from the Rio Tamuin opposed to Escondido.

Excellent! Thanks for the helps so far ppl.

Marc, I would definitely like to use a few of your pics. I've got to size some of them up and see which ones, but atleast one if not two of those pics. I'll get back to you when I know which ones.

Balton, you've got a great juvenile shot there but I think its too small for what I'm looking for. Do you have a closer profile shot at that size? If not I might be able to crop one of the two out and zoom in a little.

I have read about the Rio variation, but I dont see the difference from Escondido. What do you see?

Sorry I wish I could help your project but this is the best I have for a profile and it's tiny...but aren't they cute lol?

I'm not sure what the real differences are but what I'm seeing is more black scattered around on mine (it's always there and doesn't come and go)and the pearls look more jumbled up. It could just be my imagination though.
