Good luck with your rays!
The store you bought them from, or any pet store, needs to have a license from the state. Maybe you could contact the state agency that issues the licenses and describe the conditions of the store. Here in Maine, the Department of Agriculture issues licenses to pet stores. A requirement for the license is an inspection of the facility.

That was the exact advice I was looking for! THANK YOU. :headbang2

yes you dump it in the water... cycle also works buy the API version of it... its a bacteria boost nothing more nothing less i just have had great luck with stability.... im not seeing the reason for a million questions on this you obviously need something to boost your bio... bio spira would be best but you are having a hard time finding it... as i said before in a thread do as you wish...

I appreciate your help. Unfortunately, luck isn't as reliable as information and evidence. Thanks for sharing your experiences, though.

Does anyone know anymore about SeaChem Stability and how it works?

Nic, it has nothing to do with crying, and there is no need to throw mud here. We appreciate your help, and are glad that you have input. It is valuable, but we are trying to figure out the why's and how's. That is just the type of raykeepers we are. If you don't know the details, or don't feel like sharing, that's fine. We never said we werne't going to use it- it was Chris'mas day and all of the shops around here were closed. We just wanted to know more about it, because the accumulated knoweldge from veterinary science and microbiology that we could find on the subject appears to contradict a claim on the bottle. Simple as that.

Nic, calm down, please:)

So, Ashley and I are off to buy some supplies. Something to be used as a drip plate, more PVC for the tower frame, possibly another powerhead. Biospira, if we can find it, and some eats for the rays. The ammonia tested at a bit more than .75ppm this morning, and we did another water change.

We might get a 300 gallon Rubbermaid tub for them, if we can find one. I'm just worried about the stress of moving them- would the extra space and water volume be worth the stress of moving them over?

I'd say to give them more space is beneficial

Good, I hope we can find one today. If we do, helping them gently into a bucket and transferring them over quickly could also alleviate the stress, as would using some of the original tank water to fill up the new one.
