i agree this is totally cruel since a green terror is more intelligent a fish than a feeder. but honestly guys, if you keep pirahnas, you feed them live. Don't act like your tank wouldn't have feeders if you had that many pirahna

Yeah this is sort of sickening, i love feeders, have some down stairs right now. Don't always feed them due to the high fat, just to keep my predators more active. But my fish last maybe 5 seconds once the feeding begins not 5 min of being slowly torn apart with no place to hide or escape. Even my feeders have hides they can use. Hell i have had a feeder gold fish last for a month in my tank just because of the hides. I have no issue with live. I wasn't even that upset when my gar ate my BGK, like i said its quick, this is sort of sick

The problem here is not just a fish being torn to bits by other fish, but people also put value on certain fish. I for one, feel that a fish is a fish regardless of price. They are all "Feeders" regardless of species. Some people think that because it's a more than a dollar, that the fish is worth living and not a feeder. There are many different views on this and I don't agree that because it was a GT, it would be more cruel than a large Goldfish.

bingo! live food is live food. why is a small goldfish ok but not a GT? a fish is a fish, who are we to decide which one should get eaten? the more expensive and prettier one? this rationalization doesnt make any sense to me. if you choose to feed live foods, who the hell cares what kind of fish it is :screwy:

Was that music from one of those crappy Mortal Kombat movies? We all realize that piranha eat other fish but it is just torture for the sake of entertainment to put a large cichlid in a tank full of them,in the wild they mostly go after weak or injured fish and other animals. They dont trap an animal in a tidepool where it cant escape from and maul it to death.Yeah we give our pets feeders, mice.crickets and other living creatures but most of us dont torture the live food that we give our pets.Calienteboyy?I think he should have gotten a better view of the action by putting his face in the water.

^^ agreed with above^^

If this guy wants to waste his money on something like a GT to feed his RBPs then so be it. to many people beg to see RBPs eat then get upset when it happens b/c it's not a goldfish. I bore of threads like this. If something offends you Why post it on another site just so it can be seen by more people?
