Well, finally moved my large silvers out to their rightful tank 3' tank. :D:D:D The first pix is their original indoor tank 7' long. Jar was left behind with stingray but green aro had to be moved back in ... someone bit his tail off.

anyway, the newly moved fishes are doing very well and eating already though don't look so at home. I was initially scared that silver aro would eat the small HBRTG. Larger golden X-back seem better off with silver aros because he swims quite alot now instead of sitting at the bottom.

DAT is largely ignored by all. :nilly::nilly::nilly:

Paimas have put on heaps of weight since i got them. They are FAT :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 and steal everyone's food. I did not realize silver aros were that big. But it is a good thing i guess - almost 3' already see side shot tank). HBRTG is growing fast and does not take nonesense from any. X-back seem to eat more due to increased competition for food.

^^ yeah, they replace my paimas that did not last in winter ... this time round i am heating my outdoor set-up even if my neighbor does not. I may be in Laos but the winters here can be quite brutal (16C was too low for my previous poor paimas ... even if it was ok for my neighbors)

Paimas are not so rare around here for actually. Very popular with ponds and alll that. Some say that ponds are better than elevated set-ups in terms of temperature - i am not risking this time

that's some lovely stock you have there!
Well done

Cheers ^^ somethings are not as rare here as they are elsewhere - somethings are not available in the close vicinity ... for example, payaras are illegal in Thailand

Right now they have grown to more than 12". The grow on these guys is phenomenal - i should have them big (like my previous ones) in no time - though it will take some time to catch up with my neighbors beasts

Thanx for the encouragement. I am still to add a flow at the bottom because there is a lot of waste that does not get removed from the top - does not affect the water params but it is quite unsightly.

The tank is 3' wide so that gives some idea of the fishes' dimensions
