In theory the water is warm enough that if a pair of rays were released they could breed and throw off the ecosystem

Sorry to revive an old thread. I live in Texas and have seen multiple vendors with Freshwater Rays, some in Dallas. Though none of them are for sale.

So my question is, what exactly is illegal in Texas? The sale of them? Having in general?

For instance, can I go to Lousiana and BUY one to keep in my house in Texas?

You have to go through the wild life fish and game service i think. But they are near impossible to get. The only non-aquarium that i know of to have a permit is. Dr. Richard Ross and he is the leader in stingray knowledge

I'll never understand why some of these states are illegal. Oklahoma and Nevada definently make no sence. Unfortunantly two states I will be back and forth in due to the Military.
