pathetic

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My experience with TFD is they have stock photo's for most of their fish. Chances are the fish pictured is not the one for sale. The fish I have purchased have all come in healthy. Check on them this time next year, If they have a castexi/otorongo...chances are you will see this same pic.

Edit:IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT THAT THE VENDOR IN ? SEES THIS THREAD AND DECIDES BUGGER IT JOE PUBLIC CAN BITE ME!!!!!! I am sure they have more than enough business on the wholesale end to make it seem like nothing to lose joe public

take the above picture of a fish that was in my 230g till last night

a person with no backdrop info would come and rail on me for the shape of the fish etc... etc... etc....

now a person who asks some ? would find out that indeed the fish was in my 230g but was a recent rehome of 1 week ago coming from a previous 1.5 month stay in a 65g cesspool of a tank with no waterchanges, feedings or heat as the person just lost the ability to care for it as they got locked out of the building where their company was located. Until someone went in and took out the tank and fish, they then called me and asked me to see if I could nurse it back to health.

? based on a desire for information are better than accusations based on a desire to lift oneself up!!!!!!!

My thoughts would be how long has the wholesaler had the fish? Did it come in in that shape? etc....

If that were the case, why would he ask $300.00 for it? Would you pay full pop for the fish you are talking about in your post. One that is nearly dead and has a slight chance of being nursed back to life given A LOT of time, effort, and possibly money.

Now this not being the case (which I hope it is not). I still ask the question, Why would he use such a horrible picture for a stock picture if this is not the actual ray for sale?

all I am saying is that in the age of the internet all to often judgements are made only from appearance.

I have spoken with this vendor about bringing stock in to canada when I open my shop and from what I know of them, they handle a schwack load of fish. And I have not heard nothing but positive things about them, and they do get fish that I have not found anywhere else.

All I am saying is perhaps if they got an email about the fish in question they might change the picture.

I just brought up this oscar I rehomed to bring a point out about a picture may be worth a thousand words but are those words worth the breath it takes to speak or type them!!!!!!

If you were to attempt to sell that fish would you
A) use that picture you just posted and explain nothing about the condition of the fish
B) use that picture but explain the story behind the condition of the fish
C) use a newer picture showing the improved condition of the fish

Do you see where I am getting with this?

We will see if TFD wants to comment on this since you are very concerned with their side of the story

Oh I can see your angle for sure but I also see this from a business persons perspective.

It's not that I am so deadly interested or that my day will rise or fall on the outcome of this thread, rather, I am simply trying to get across that pictures do not always tell the whole story.

I used to have a thread on aquaria central where I showed people the chef side of what I was doing with my restaurant, only to get gangbanged by a few people on there all due to a picture of a messy stove(picture taken while in heat of preparation) and a picture from a non profit arts center kitchen( ask anyone in not for profit center for the arts what their budget is for a top of the line kitchen) where I donate my time and skills to enrich what they are doing with community theater.

So based on a few pictures certain people chose to string me up and belittle my 34 years of restaurant experience and 15 years of ownership :screwy::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:(side note I just took best flavour in a chef competition which included some stiff competition)

Much the same as another thread where a person chose to malign a florist for placing betta's in floral arrangements for a function they were called to do. The poster of said thread strategically left out the part about how the bettas were rehomed after the function.

I just think that when it comes to making calls about the validity of a business, it is best that discretion is used, which is my main reason for stepping up to the plate here! :naughty:
