Help!!! Oscar!!!!

i recently got an oscar, and it has been doing fine. But today i looked in the tank, and it was going back and forth almost in a frenzy! it would also ocassionally go up to the top right below the surface. There was a bare spot of gravel that hadnt been there last night and it kept putting its head down there and rubbing it against the bottom as if it was moving the gravel. Is there something wrong with it?

cover up the bare spot. Oscars like to dig, and they don't like seeing their reflection. It might be trying to get aggressive against itself.

My Tank Setup

How big is your tank? Is he in the tank alone?

There's your problem right there. Tank is WAY too small.

agreed best to upgrade a fair bit if you want to keep the 2 of them together , its for the best so you fish can live happily and grow to a healthy length

mybe something spooked it. do you have a back round and decor in your tank? it may reduce the stress...i dont condone to others talking about tank size when they do not know the size of the fish and future plans of up grades are a possibility yet
