10g full of calci sand...what to do?

I know both are sold in reptile /exotic pet shows in Florida . The zebra mice I have seen the Duprasi I have only seen in NY but certainly legal here.

Louie youve been paying attentionno i dont like little geckos, for whatever reason any lizard under 5" is yuck with me. give me a 2 ft beardy anyday but a tiny house gecko YUCK! heebee jeebees
My daughter is very very very good at understanding and caring for pets. she has handled everything from 2 week old hamsters so 2ft beardies, to snakes, to 5lb dogs, to 100lb dogs. She is a very good pet keeper and respects all animals. I was thinking about leapard geckos as i tink i can handle them when they are big but like they said above i dont think for right now i can house an adult which would be the only size ide like.
If i do frogs or toads or newts can they be waterless? how would i add a bathing area for any of these? and no she wont mind crickets.
what about a sand boa?
You can easily silicone the bottom of tank and just add soil or eco earth with water bowl and set for a toad .
Thing is I imagine it would be a look but dont handle pet thats why I was leaning towards zebra mice or duprasi .

what about a sand boa?
a sand boa in my opinion get way to big for a 10 gallon, the online care sheets say that they will be fine in a 10-20 gallon BUT they also say that leopard geckos do as well and sand boas get 2' long. Get a whites dumpy tree frog. keep mealworms in a tub of oats and give them carrots every week and u have a never ending mealworms. google the process of mealworm breeding. newts are aquatic salamanders basically. some salamanders can live in a dry tank with peat moss that is always damp. they will eat (depending on size of salamander) mealworms, superworms, earthworms, crickets,waxworms etc. unless you breed mealworms or super (as i do myself if u pm me i can walk u through it its very simple) you will need to stop at the pet store once a week for food for a frog or most amphibians or reptiles. non that i can think of other than some very hard to find dwarf spieces of animal that arent any fun at all. newts or any other aquatic amphibians for the most part only need like 1/4 of the tank filled. so if the crack is up top your fine. if its the very bottom then any amphibian is out of the question because they need moisture at the bottom at all times which you can seel with cauking. If you get a leopard gecko then get her a 20 gallon tank with a dome light, water dish, 3-4 caves, and a heating pad from craigslist, this'll run you about $30 from craigslist.com (an amazing site for any pet owner if you've never used it). but you would like i said either breed bugs or stop at the store once a week. there is no such thing as a hands on pet for a 5yo. If your going to get a new animal I personally wait at least 2 weeks of studying on the animal. I usually end up studying them for about 3 months though lol. BTW dump the sand for sure caci sand is total BS it causes impaction in most reptiles. impaction is when your animal aciedentally eats some sand and cant digest it so your pets stomach explodes. sounds gruesome. it is google it. so sand is useless actaully harmful. leopard geckos in their natural habitat live on rocks not sand so u should use paper towels as a substrate. pm me for any more info on anything.
forsaken the sand boa would have been upgraded. fish arent the only ones that get grow out tanks and upgrades here

It was just an itneresting critter for her to hae other than every small childs average hamster.
i was also considering a pac man frog.
i guess i dont have much use for the calci sand besides a boa or gecko.
I dont mind having to get crickets every week i have to get feeders for cichla anyways

She saw fire belly toads today. I thought about it. I could just seal the tank or just do part soil and just have a deep water container for soaking.

Pacman from what I read arent to active and can bite. I have never had any but they seem bit sedate and your daughter might prefer smaller more colorfull toads that actually move.
The fire Bellys are very active and you can make a nice little terrarium with a simple sunk in dirt plastic topperware type bin filled with water and than plant easy stuff in soil around that.
