Howdy,

Same dosage as Prime (5ml/50gal), roughly same price. Works against chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals.

Anybody use it? Good/Bad?

Ive seen it but I never looked into it as I have been so happy with prime for so many years...

Howdy,

Prime stinks.

Besides, I can feed Pro-Dechlorinator together with Kent ferts into my drip system. Kent Marine's Central Aquatics Tech Lead is very responsive. He assured me that the specific supplements I use are compatible to be pre-mixed (though not the entire Kent portfolio is)

why cant you feed prime into your drip system? I highly doubt theres anything wrong with pre mixing it with ferts before hand either. All dechlorinators use the same basic ingredient(sodium thiosulfate) and in this case i would geuss the same concentration and if this treats the same amount of water as prime its going to stink just as much

I am currently feeding Prime into my drip, but I want to combine it with ferts. When it comes to preparations, not only the active ingredient matters, but also the formulation. Only a manufacturer knows what's in a product, thus, only a manufacturer can assess compatibility of products (other than me trying it out). Considering Kent Pro-Dechlorinator is odorless, treats the same amount and is priced the same as Prime, adding to that the fact that they confirmed compatibility of these products, I honestly see no reason to use Prime any longer :grinno:

Just thought I'd see if anyone else has looked into it. Doesn't seem to be the case.

Update:

I've been using it for the past few months, mixed with Kent's iron & manganese supplement. Sits in the dosing bucket just fine, no precipitation. Fish & plants & inverts are in perfect health.

And no Prime stink. I couldn't be happier :)

Update:

Have been using it all year. Fish, plants, and shrimp are fine. And the best thing is: Just as efficient, but no Prime stink :grinno:

Thumbs up for Kent Pro-Dechlorinator
