if uve ever heard about kennesaw georgia or "gun town USA" thats proof that increase in guns can decrease crime. heres an article about it http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=41196. but i dont think these fbi crime statistics can really prove that. there are alot of other factors here.

Let's take a look at what happening now in Kennesaw :(:duh: Five people dead in two separate incidents just a few months back

I just love when post a bunch of numbers and try to say that is the reason for such :duh:

Crime is down only because gun sales were up. This is what this thread is trying to propose?

I was NOT trying to propose it was the ONLY factor, but it definitely is a correlating factor!

Analytical thinking uses data and facts to arrive at logical conclusions, no?

Yep, that's what the stats show  There are those here that would want you to believe if every kid in school carried a gun, there would be no more shootings in schools, playgrounds or daycares.

Hell, the murder could drop to zero, just have to add more guns:headbang2

dude, how about actually using reason before attacking stuff.
Lets use an example. Im gonna rob someone. One area i know has a very good chance of having a gun. One area has a very low chance of having a gun. Which do u think im gonna rob??? the one with no guns DUH!!!

DC for example. they banned handguns for years. yet there was tons of shooting using  HANDGUNS!!!!

Let me spell stuff out for u. Gun laws only affect those of us that follow the laws. The criminals will always find a way to get them, with less laws it just allows us who follow the law to defend ourself.

Guns are here to stay, u dont like it move to austrailia or Europe

"Dude! How about actually using reason before attacking stuff?" May be you're the one, and may be the only one, who rob the area with no guns! When you talk about rob, it's about money, except those that lack a pair, then they will "google" to find out whether the area they're going to rob having a good chance or low chance of keeping gun! :screwy:

While suicides by gun have reduced dramatically in Australia since the Australian government also banned the private ownership of guns, gun violence through assaults, robberies and rape has increased 11 fold in Australia since criminals, who do not buy legal guns, know their prey is no longer armed. Violent crimes in Australia, which was below 100 per 100 thousand population when Aussies were armed is now over 700 per 100 thousand. I could cite statistic after statistic to show that when populations are disarmed, crime rises—usually very dramatically. Make guns legal, crime drops. Make owning firearms mandatory and crime becomes almost nonexistent. If you missed it the first couple of times I said it, banning guns has nothing to do with curbing crime and everything to do with government fearing the people it is screwing out of their liberty.

Anyone needing proof that fanaticism for gun control hasn't waned on Capitol Hill, that anti-gunners are -- as Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) put it last year -- only waiting to "pick the time," should watch the video of Mexican president Felipe Calderon's speech to Congress last week, versions of which have been posted on youtube.com. When Calderon asked that the federal "assault weapon" ban be re-imposed, a very large number of U.S. Representatives and Senators present gave him a standing ovation.

However, on Monday the FBI released crime statistics that should cause the applauding anti-gunners to sit on their hands. The statistics indicate that between 2008 and 2009, as gun sales soared, the number of murders in our country decreased 7.2 percent. That amounts to about an 8.2 percent decrease in the per capita murder rate, after the increase in our nation's legal and illegal population is taken into account. And it translates into about a 10.5 percent decrease in the murder rate between 2004, when the ban expired, and the end of 2009. And finally, it means that in 2009 our nation's murder rate fell to a 45-year low.
I'm not surprise, as the article was posted by NRA-ILA.

its about money, but would u rob the area that might get u shot and killed or the one with no chance but slightly less money??

Unless ur suicidal and that hard up for cash, there is a pretty damn good chance ur goin after someone with no guns.

Which doesn't have anything relate to gun sale or ban... They just made the stat fit their purpose. I could say that crime rate is getting low, since more people joint mfkers.com! True? :D
