Ive just noticed that along with some blanketweed on the rocks in my stream running into the pond I have a black rubber like algae that pulls off like peeling skin.Any ideas as to what it is?

Dead or dying algae?

Could be some sort of blue-green algae or 'slime' algae.

Got a pic? Could be blanket weed. Clover leaf blanket answer is the business for ridding the pond of it. Use at 1/4 recommenced dose.

Just a guess, need a pic to confirm.

Its alive. Its only in the stream on the border.Blanket weed is on the rocks. Will try to post pic later

Is it slimy like a Cyno.?
