The male Mozambique are neat aren't they with their fat breeding lips yet very hard to catch by hook.

I actually do not know anyone who has caught one by hook only cast net which I don't consider fishing . The other talipia bite but not Mozambique males .

Red devils and Mozambique are two fish which I often see but never hooked and Red devils I would love to catch but countless wasted hours with hooks right in front of them (earthworms, ghost shrimp, shrimp chunks, peas ) and nothing ever.

they are very neat looking fish. I was also unable to catch any or even catch thier interest for that matter even with the large number that I saw.

I was able to catch a red devil on one occasion using a small jig while they were paired up and guarding the nest area. Other than that, I also find them hard to catch, just like tilapia (with the exception of mariae)
