so cal and singapore
I have been feeding crushed floating pellets that sick and shrimp that sicks to my convict. I bought a omega one freeze dried tubifex worm cube this morning, and they wont eat it when its floatin. Its impossible to sink it. How do you guys convert your fellow cichlids to eating floating food?

put something else in the tank that'll eat surface food. once they see another fish doing it, they'll do the same

no follow the leader act for you? That usually works. have you tried soaking anything in garlic? tubifix worms might be too much trouble but maybe some pellets?

How tall is your aquarium? If you let them starve for a day or two they'll try harder the next time you feed them.

Its a rubbermaid 54 gallon with about 10 inch of water. I plan on starving them 1 or 2 day too lol

just what i mentioned earlier. sometimes fish will see another fish doing something and then copy it. you already said it didn't work in your case. Garlic may be the best way to go. i don't recommend starving them if they're scared to rise to the surface or just don't notice it's food yet
