There is a thread talking about snapping turtles in the main reptile forum, so I though I would post up some pictures of some of the commons that I have caught over the last few years. Most of these I caught by jumping out of a small boat that I have, and I generally just release them after getting pictures.

And I have to give credit where it's due, my friend Mike (Mikeyy) is almost always with me helping catch these things. He's a bit more hesitant than me to go after them (not that I can blame him) but he's always there nonetheless.

These are probably only 10% of what I have caught, as the rest I usually get at night and don't usually take pictures when I get them at night. They just turn out as blobs on my camera.

Yeah I know! They generally aren't happy to see me though!:D

And here are some of the places where I'm pulling them out of.

oh i know man we find all kinds in ponds and lakes around here. you definitely dont want to make them mad and be at the business end.

nice man!
ive almost started a business of catching them in my friends ponds and what not. theyre a nuisance here.

Whats your method?

They are awesome.. do you release them again or are they soup...seems such a shame to grow so big and be captured.. i hope mine is out there somewhere surviving..
