Don't think any one says arowana can't have tank mates. Common sense should be applied when choosing tank mates. Although there are many cases where nothing goes wrong when kept in risky situations, those keepers rely on luck more over good fishkeeping skills. Which case would be yours?

OK no one should have told you aros can't have tankmates
.. its just nonscence... i had my aro in with a fire eel... klown knife ... peacock bass
.. and 3 stingrays with NO problem... and an alligator gar... everything on pellets.. so.whoever told you no tank mates.for you arowana is a danged idiot...

Who said that?

yeah... maybe an idiot and i am too...but not anymore...
i had keep my aro and grow so fast that makes my tank shrink LOL!

I'd love to know what size tank you are keeping ID SharkS in. Besides that, I think the general idea about Aros and tank mates is that they should be kept solo for the time they are juvenile and smaller because they are quite fragile at that size, and when introducing tank mates when they are large enough, just to make sure not to keep anything too aggressive, and make sure their sizes are proportionate to each other so they can't eat each other.

Never heard anyone say Aros can't have tank mates though?
