55 g Sump For 250g

Well Last Night I cut glass from a Tank that another friend in the hobby Gave me... Thanks Vincent again!!

Just now I placed and replaced and then set close to how I wanted it set up Piece by piece as you'll see below it went together Turned out to be the quickest and simplest DIY I've done to date Now if it just stays together :twisted: I have faith though as it was extremely hard getting the glass from the tank my friend give me

So here are the pics the smallest of the three compartments is the pump area

Not a pretty tank I know but it is a sump and hopefully an excellent one

any reason why u built it like that? u gonna have a fuge in the middle or something? most of those baffles look almost useless to me in a fw tank. i woulda built to sections on the sides for 2 different filters basically. more media, more filtration, same sump. and place the pump in the middle where it'll go back to ur maint tank. ur design will work but useless in my opinon

Well I guess that is your opinion And it stung a little I opened up to what I wanted and gues what This is it!! I have many options now instead of just plain Jane filters I can put any variety of plants if I so choose and any number of small fish that interest me and would fit in thsi size of tank for ever.. You see I am kinda on the down side of being able to have more tanks right now And this is a FILTER Cannot be told no to that OH S*H*I*T guess what else it is also a tank too So I feel it is completely useful for my plans.. AND if I want two sided I CAN STILL go there and put the pump in the middle so not even close to half as limited as the upper suggested

Oh and the first part about two filters was my first concept Just too plain Jane

Filtration will be plenty And easier to see and explain to my friends that are always asking how and why Where's your sense of imagination Man!!! That stung a little til I remembered my plans My imagination puts them in when I see stuff that others have .. And next thing you know Vuala I have a sump and with a fuge, that can hold plants or fish Or both

And should I decide one day to go salt Damn I guess I can now

I am going to go with pot scrubbies like the original sump I had on my 150, and some swamp cooler material, and most likely a sponge in the end baffle just to see how it works

Still working the kinks out though So who knows what the end of the beginning will be

a sump is a sump, i shouldn't have to "imagine" how ur sump is gonna work. i just don't see the purpose of your design. you didn't mention anything about using it to house fish, plants, n whatever else u wanna now put in it. but if u meant to design it that way, looks good.
