The land of the pine
So, as a few of you may know, i have an extremely agressive redbreasted sunfish. It killed my crappie, and half of the feeders i put in for my pickerel. I still liked it so i kept it, until i came home from the beach and found my pickerel missing parts of its fins, and it is severly beat up. So i thought, if that fish wants to be aggressive, hes going to be with other agressive fish. So i decided im putting him in my pond with my extremely violent 4 pound Largemouth bass who killed a koi twice its size. If my sunfish lives, than good. There is a bullhead and a bluegill in the pond that my bass mostly ignores, but they keep their distance. ill let yall know how it goes.

Aggression can fix aggression. When my redbreast became violent, I threw him in a 5 gallon bucket(to stress him out). Then I added him to the Oscar tank. A week later he was moved back to the native tank. For some reason, he no longer felt like the dominate fish. Of course, in the presence of subordinate fish it will become the aggressive dominate again. I did have a few young males that fought to become dominate. In the end, the aggresssive male was passive and all the other males resorted to smaller displays of aggresssion.

I believe the social order plays a giant role in aggression. If you can manipulate the social order, you can alter aggression. Obviously, this is not possible with a solo large male. In your case, I would try very large dithers to split up aggression

Lol, a 4 pound largemouth seems a large enough dither to me :)

nah, 4 ponds is weak. try a 10 pounder, although unless the sunfish are under 2" they'll beat him up

in all seriousness, i wanna see this bass!

I dont think you would have this problem if you didn't try putting them in a 60 gallon together..
He was in a 120 with a crappie and killed it...
Now he's in my bass's belly.... Didn't think he would be able to but I was wrong.

in all seriousness, i wanna see this bass!
I'll get some pics ASAP. there's some videos of him when he was younger that I recorded about 2 years back and posted back in August.
