I would remove the silica sand. It is very sharp.

I'm sorry for not providing updated pictures but I will after I move them into their new home this next week. They will be moving into a 180 breeder w/ some pbass juevies. They are all better now though the male still turns red when upset for whatever reason.

So my rays have been chilling with a yellow benga in a 75 on our super system in the basement.

I just finished plumbing a 180 in my bedroom into that filter setup. Now the system totals 1,200 gallons. At any rate I was going to move the rays into the 180 with a group of 15 orino pbass from another 75 to grow out together.

I wanted to setup the 180 as a planted tank, I know the pbass dig it.

Here it is so far, I was going to order some more plants not going to clutter it up just fill out the back a little the rays will be in there for another 2-4 inches in growth. when their disks are 8 inches they will move to the 300 gallon. Will they destroy the plants? Will they eat the crap out of snails I was going to establish as cleaners of algae? I was going to use Malaysian trumpet and ramshorn.

Your input is really appreciated.

My retics eat snails... any tank I've moved them into they destroyed any and all snails in a matter of days. particularly if there wasn't anywhere for the snails to hide other then the sand. I found a bunch of crushed up snail shells when I syphoned out the 120 when I moved them this past weekend. My rays haven't bothered any plants but tehya re all free-floating.. so i'de guess if they arne't attached to DW they would be dug up in the pursuit of snacks.
