That's awesome.I'd thought of setting one of these types of pools in the basement for my fish a while back.

Lesson Learned - Do not be a stubborn woman, Listen to the advise on using a 45mil liner to begin with..... and day 8 of new liner.. Everybody has been healthy and happy. I'm starting to lean towards my problems being mainly from the intex pool liner leeching something into the water causing my fish to get ill.

I can not say this enough and likely will drive people crazy w/ this.. But Line it, line it, line it! If you go this route or are thinking about it.. since we replaced the liner not a single issue w/ the set-up other then its so darn dark... but I'm thinking a light natural sandy gravel will bring the colors/marking out best in the fish.

Have to take the pool down.. Last straw.. We actually lost the Cuban ( the smaller of the 3 guys the other 2 are Tropicals) For no ^%^&%&^ Reason. Water testing fine.. upgradeded the liner and the filtration... Just did a 50% WC w/ extra water conditioner (but not to much) 3 days ago... came home to the Cuban dead.. now in our Freezer... less then 12 weeks out from my due date w/ #2... so we made the decision since we also tapped out on money to put into this project atm to shut-down the pool and start from scratch next year hopefully once I can go over everything with a fine toothed comb and figure this out ( we suspect our source water or some form of contamination from our basement) It really sucks when you have to make this choice.. but I'de rather find everyone left good homes then keep crossing our fingers we "finally fixed the problem" And we don't have anything big enough to even house these guys short-term. Some of these fish we've had 4yrs now or close too it. I am so :swear: atm because we can't figure out the problem and we don't have the time/finances ect to do it.. we already put ourselves in enough debt tbh trying to fix this issue and we have to make a choice of Pet vs Family. Far from giving up, but the fish won't survive if we step back the next few monthes other then routine care.

And yes that night was a lot of fun! lol lost of splashing and "caaareful!"
