Now I am interested. These stay in water all the time ? If they are I am good if not then I need to find a place to sleep.

They will need a place to climb out of the water ... Stick or rock is fine but they mainly stay in water

Also thank you for all the positive feed back guys! I am a broke college student and it took me a long time to put this together.
Hear that. Took me ages to save for the tank I'm working on now. Once you get that ba you can go really big. That's my plan.

Temperature of the tank should theoretically not suit the paddletail newt, also it's among the most aggressive caudata, though I am questioning how much harm it could possibly to do a bichir.

Below 20 degrees celsius is ideal, my suggestion is to separate soon.
