Personally, I am someone who prefers to feed fresh foods, although I do supplement occasionally with the prepared foods. I have had great success using Hikari Tropical sinking carnivore pellets, they have gone down really well with my more carnivorous plecos. However, the Hikari Tropical sinking wafers didn't go down well with my collection, they didn't seem to like it at all.

All my tanks get a thrice over weekly with fresh vegetables and fruits; peas, zuch, eggplant, broad beans, melon rinds, slices of orange, mango, bok choi, collards...whatever is in the fridge at the time, blanched slighy if leafy or left raw if not, as all my tanks bear some fry.

From there, I feed shaved bloodworm (again, fry friendly), staple high quality flake, carnivore pellets, sinking cichlid pellets, and blended mysis, particularly for the exclusively carnivorously inclined tanks. I currently don't really keep any obligate wood eaters nor herbivores, but for my specialty fish (planiloricaria, pterosturisoma, homaloptera, psuedohemiodon), which are all either specialized algae eaters or sand sifters, I feed finely ground vegetable mixes several times a day.
