Anyone using a Fluval FX5 Filter, Im thinking of buying one, just wondering if they are as good as the spec says they are (suitable for a 360 gallon tank) that should do my 100 gallon!

I have one in my 180 gallon they work great !!!

they have 3 baskets in my top one i have KITCHEN SCOURERS and in the second basket i have ALFAGROG and in the bottom basket i have FILTER WOOL to catch the finer particals i plan to change the media as soon as i can afford to but so far it's doing a good job considering i've only had it up and running for about 3 days now.

Eheim Profressional 3 > Fluval FX5.

I think the subject was about the FX5 but I would like to see some spec on the
Eheim 3 if you dont mind- dont forget price. I looked at Eheim prior to buying the FX5 - what can I say about Eheim compared to the FX5 ? I will leave out the rest

But I would be interested in the information to compare the two

Its good to here feedback from those with an open mind as well as being on the management team- It will get even more difficult for those to make negative comments against the FX5 as time goes on.
I was getting a little tired of opening the closed minds - I rather keep those minds closed. Better things to do... :clap

Found some specs on the Eheim 3 - 2080 series

Its not even close - the FX5 is by far a superior product and costs less on average.
The components are beter made on the FX5....

Eheim Professional 3

The Eheim Professional 3 external canister filter combines high pump output (1700lph) and a large canister and filter volume with high reliability and the renowned EHEIM quiet running smoothness. The large prefilter, easily accessibly under the pump head, significantly increased the interval between cleaning. This Eheim filter sets new standards for ease of use in its class -

2 + 1 Safety hose adaptor - 2 inlet side connectors and 1 outlet side connector guarantee the optimum water circulation for your aquarium.

• Maintenance flow indicator - easy to view in the adapter, measure the water through flow.

• The flow level adjusts the water flow through the filter

• The red safety catch prevents accidental release during handling - the adapter can only be removed when the taps are closed

• Self priming aid - pushing the priming button starts the water flow into the filter for a quick and easy start up

• Large volume top pre filter (1.5lts) pre cleans water to reduce maintenance.

• 4 strong transport wheels makes the filter easily moved.
