I bought (im guessing) a redtail/shovelnose cat hybrid. It was only listed as hybrid at the store. I was just wondering if anyone knew if this is a fact or not. The pics are small (I took them on a cell phone) and theyre kinda crappy. Any help would be awesome.

cool, do you have a rough estimate about how large they can get?

I can't see those tiny pics well enough to tell much. But, supposing it is a rtc/tsn, it should get just as large as the parents. If you don't know how big that is, you're in trouble! Better start getting that 4' wide tank going.

ive done alot of research before i decided to buy him and i feel confident in his housing so far. I'm the time it would take him to reach a critical time to re-size the tank i should have enough money and space to upgrade to a larger one.

These fish grow too big too fast. You need a big tank buddy. Also be careful in choosing its tank mates.

You need to go talk to necrocanis, I think his rtcxtsn is the largest on the site right now. Your best bet is going to be to hang out in the catfish section of the site. These hybrids are some of the most regular discussions on the thread. I personally have a 5" hybrid and absolutly love him! Just hope you have a REALLY large tank or pond
