Hello all,

I 'm newbie and a dozen discus had arrived last Wed. They are beautiful and i am so excited raising them. There are alot of learning for me from you, please help me out when needed.

Man they're beautiful! Where did you order them from? And what type of lighting system are you using? Cause the colors really pop out!!!!
 
i got them from WA breeder and using Jebo 5ft double lights (white & purple). they're beautiful and we love them. Hopelly, i'll give them good home.

I'm not a big fan of mixed strains but those are some beautiful fish. the only thing I would be concerned with is the size of the gravel. you need to feed small discus 5 or 6 times a day and it going to be hard to clean that substrate. bare bottom is best but I would hate to look at it if it was going to be a show tank. a light layer of fine sand is'nt hard to clean and looks great. your off to a great start.
 
you're right about the gravel. Tell me what you know like about mix strains and would i get any pairs out of these??
