Doing water changes
So ive been looking around for another tank since i wanna do a single specimen tank (umbee:headbang2 ) so what i was thinking is switching my community tank thats my 240 over to this 330 and then do my umbee tank in my 240 tank. This guy is asking fro $2500 Im pretty sure i can talk him down a bit but still not bad for everything. My biggest concern would be for my aros if getting a tank that is 2ft shorter in lenght but 1ft wider which would be better for them(i know wider is better but just wanna make sure)? Or should i keep them in the 240 and put the umbee in the 330? By the way im just thinking down the road since my aros are only 10-12 inches right now and i need to find some umbee for sale. Looking to have this all done in about 3-4 months

If you don't buy that tank I will smack you!! lol just joking but I think it would be a great tank for the Aro's until they get huge. What kind of Aro's are we talkin here Silvers? If silvers then that tank is still not big enough for one.

thats a rip off.

ya personally I wouldnt get a 300+gal that is only 6' long length is more important then width IMO not to mention it is rather tall which makes aquascaping a pain in the butt...

if you are set on it then go for it, but personally I would look around, also you might find a custom shop close to you that could make you something that would be better suited for you for close to that price...

ive seen those 4 like 800 to 1000 bucks.

ya custom tanks with weird diamentions like this one kind of lower the second hand value because they are less appealing to other people...

Thats a bit high for what your getting. as far as the shape goes however width is WAY more importiant than length when your talking about a TSN or other fish that dont bend well but much less importiant with a fish as flexable as an aro. It's your decision of course but I'd have to pass on that deal.

I agree. I would pass but depends on what kind of deal you can get in your area..

yes that is true but when you are talking about territorial cichlids then length is better. my rule of thumb is the tank should be the width for the adult size of the fish if you plan on housing it for life in that tank...

its an ok deal for the area im in. I picked up my 240 for $1100 with a 29 gal sump 3 ac500 xp3 2 rio2500 pumps heaters lights a stand and some other stuff. I Dont mind the height but its really the width i like 36 inches. Also when i call for qoutes thats the typical price range for the tank alone i could always build a stand and stuff but this one has everything. I think i may go check it out atleast if i can get the price down significantly ill buy it cause i know hes been trying to get rid of it for months now since i saw him post this tank in may.
