Hi every one
I have built a 2000 gal shark pond with a 3000 gal addition to the shark pond. well my pond is short lived because I have to move .

I found it easier for me just to up load my pics to my web site and share the link when something starts up.
I have been looking at houses with a new pond in mind.
and I found one.

the day finally came where I got to start working at the new home.

my wife is a good sport about my love of having a shark ponds but still thinks I am :screwy:
to do all this work again...

I am ready to get the epoxy paint I will be using for the pond .
the last pond I did. I had to pay big bucks for the shipping becouse it is hazerdes :irked:

the only type I can get around my place is epoxy paint for swimming pools.
can any one tell me if their is a reason I can't use the pool epoxy paint ?

I did have problems with the last type I used and it was for ponds, two bubbles that ripped and i had to repair.

the epoxy paint will be painted over fiberglass.

Not for certain - but verify that it's saltwater safe. Saltwater is obviously significantly harder on any surfacing material than fresh.

thanks for the reply

I was told some swimming pools use salt instead of chlorine to keep it clean of germs.
is that true ? that would make it salt safe :D

Hi every one i have new pic of my new pond build.
i hope you like it. i really need to finish this up next week my sharks are in a temp pool in my basment.:D

i got some pond sealer also but when i bought it i asked about using this with saltwater i got told don't cause the saltwater will affect the poxy or whatever and will leak

I used the pond epoxy paint on the first pond , only a year old before moving so I cant say any thing about time + salt = leak the problem I had was the epoxy paint ripped in corners, but I am just using the epoxy paint as on the new pond as a last layer to seal the fiberglass. the real straight is in the fiberglass and resin. and the epoxy paint comes in different colors. last pond was black the new will be blue.

yeah true if fibreglassed that would hold it anyways
just found a marine epoxy myself + some stuff u could use to make it a different color so gonna start on 1 maybe soon
if u order enough u even can pick out your on color
but having blue laying around myself so going blue also
also bought a pool 5.5l 3.5w 1.2h maybe use this after the summer

I have this grate nexus filter system I have been planing to use on my shark pond.
it is for a fresh water koi pond, has any one used it for salt water ?
will I have a problem with the stainless steel parts ?

I already have the filter. I was thinking of coating all the parts with the epxoy paint I will be using on the last layer of the pond ,only if the stainless steel can give me problems.
