I haven't had any real aggression problems with my 'regani'. In fact, most of my other Paraneetroplus species are more aggressive than those. I believe mine are Rio Jaltepec.

1 hrp
2 rapheal cats
1 green phantom pleco
4 metynnis fasciatus
5 densien barbs

Would this tank be over stocked if I added either a regani or zonatus ? Or like rock said both and see who works best...its a 150 gal

I've purchased regani on two different occasions. The first were from The Wet Spot in Portland. Those fish could stand their ground but were quite peaceful (in a 220 gallon mixed CA tank). They sported a very green/blue iridescent sheen and lacked prominent dark spots on their flanks.

The second group of regani I bought were the 'mojarra pinto' variety from Cichlid Connection. These fish had prominent dark spots and were more yellowish than my other ones. They were also more aggressive. I ended up trading them in to a local store because they were harassing each other and a similarly-sized bifasciatus in my 220 (I was more fond of the bifa, hence the decision to remove the regani). They weren't wildly aggressive, but I liked the first ones I had more, both for color and disposition.

Thanks for the info notho2000 and fug202

Dmd the heterospilus is another beaut ...can find much info other than they arent aggressive. Size wise are they comparable to sajica? From whatbi read they dont get big. They are another vieja that I would love to own..... I really need another 6ft tank lol. But think the heterospilus would work in the 150 gal

The heterospila I have are very peaceful. They don't initiate anything but will stand their ground when challenged by comparable species. Mine are 3-4", and I believe they will max out at 7-8".

Fug besides the zonatus the heterospilus is becoming a fav. Do you think it will work with my current stock bioload wise. Tank is a 150 filtered by fx6 mostly bio and an ac110 crammed with bio floss and purigen. Stock is
A.metae 5 ish inches
Hrp 2 to 3 inches
Green phantom pleco (4 inches)
2 Raphael cats (2 inches)
4 striped sd's
5 denisen babrs

I would avoid the zonatus because they get large and can be quite aggressive once they reach 6 or 7". I think a heterospila would do alright if you keep up with your water changes.

I dont have any recent pics of the het but it looks pretty much like the one fug posted. I know most things say 9-10" max but they can get bigger. I have a friend who had a female that got to be 12". She was a beast but really calm and easy going.
