Here's a clip of my pond. It's roughly 700gal running a 6000 litre per hour pump and presently filtered through a 44gal bio-filter filled with trawler net. The return water is channelled through a waterfall filled with crushed coral to raise the ph. I add common pool salt :WHOA: to raise the salinity to between 3 and 5 parts per thousand. These fish are commonly found in saltwater so a little salt keeps them happy. The pond has been running since November without any issues.

I'm in the process of planning a bog filter to replace the bio.

ps: The convicts aren't long-term residents, they're food.

Really cool, in the first part of the video(before the convicts), it doesn't look like a man-made pond.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I cleaned the biofilter out last week for the first time in 6 months. Had heaps of black muck in it. My water tested well but probably lucky I didnt end up with an amonia spike or something the way it was going.

Anyway, will be cleaning the bio out every 2 months looking forward.
