Pikes are pretty rare around my way, and when they do come about, they come with a hefty price tag! so I spotted this guy for sale (cheap as well) and I couldnt resist. Problem is he was only labelled as pike cichlid and the lfs workes didnt know anything about him apart from "he gets about 8 inches long"

Can anyone shed some light on this guy? Size, temprement, diet etc

Looks like a Venezuela. I purchased one just like it in my lfs and same paterns. Mines got about 10" semi-aggressive.

Does look to be a vennie, expect at least 17-18" maybe more. Fairly laid back but will eat whatever it can fit in its mouth.

Hmm unfortunatley I only have a 100g tank which is definitely too small for him long term.

What medium sized pikes are there that would do well in a 4ft 100g tank?
