Noticed that I did not show the final results of my Arapaima pond.
Running well, notable fish are the Arapaima, 1.5 meters, RTC of 50cm, RTC of 30cm, 2 Peacock Bass, 15 and 30cm and an Oscar of 20cm, Crystal Eye of about 40cm.
Rest is Tilapia, Plecos, Koi, Mud Carp and some others.

The arapaima is hand-fed, he's very docile and just lies there with his mouth open to get a prawn or other food.
RTC's the same, fun to watch, they are my housekeeping lady's babies...nobody gets near them without her permission..lol.

The pond was setup with minimum amount of funds, total was about 2,500 USD. Many things DIY because of the small budget and used lots of scrap steel, fittings, up to the 2 settling tanks that where made out of 4 old Microwave GSM antennas that we had lying around.
The system works with 2 bottom-drains, again DIY, 2 settling tanks, 2x20,000 liter p/hour pumps and 2 bog-filters.
There is a grow out pond between one bog and the main pond, mostly Koi in there.
I estimate total volume at about 55,000 liter.

Overall design not the most beautiful, but system wise it runs very well. Hardly anything we do except some cleaning on the pumps and cutting back the plants in the bog, they grow very very fast.

All the ponds look great. I have been flirting with the idea of building a pond at my house in Massachusetts.

What does everyone do so their ponds do not become a mosquito breeding ground?

Just a little surface movement honestly. I get more mosquitos from an upside down frisbee left outside than from my pond.
