I'll try and find out what he's been feeding it, this is the only fish he has ever kept but I still don't see that as an excuse, before I kept fish I would've known that this fish is far too big for this tank, it can't even turn! I guess some people just don't care.. Is it likely to get any bigger at all if moved into a larger tank? Wish I knew someone with a tank large enough for it because the 260 i've ordered wouldn't even hold this fish for long if it started to grow again..

Considering where fish live normally maybe not but that's no defense of the way that this fish has been kept.

I guess we all would be if we didn't do any water changes or heat the water somehow and keep our fish in a tank that they can hardly move in..
