Well I don't know if I'm wrong about this but I was under the impression that during cycling u shouldn't change water. I mean that u would want ur ammonia to spike at first for the bacteria to bloom to a point where it's able to handle that kind of load, same with the nitrite. So basically the first time u should change water in the tank u cycle is when u get a reading of 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and over 40 nitrate. When u change water before that point ur just making it last longer.
Im using fish as an ammonia source.
How long does it take to seed a brand new filter. Meaning today I hook up a filter to this tank how long until I can move this filter to another tank and it have bb

You're right about that. Usually, you just cycle tbe tank, and don't change water until you're done. I think people change water while they're cycling to keep toxins low so the cycle isn't quite so hard on the fish. May add some time to tbe process, but it may be a little easier on the fish, too.

on average with a clean slate 6 to 8 weeks to fully cycle a tank up. happy Easter to you as well. ;)
