That looks like a female to be because of the way she is built.

It's pretty well rounded but I'm going with male just because there's no black on it's dorsal.

Yep. Females have black in the dorsal fin. No black = male, regardless of body shape - my male Carpinte is chunky as well.

yeah I have a hard time telling, even the smaller one in the back of the pisture is questionable. does anyones texans peel or molt?
