Here are a few pics I took last week at the shark aquarium. I have two of that Jau thing and two of what they call "unidentified" catfish...NOT FOR SALE. I couldnt get a better pic of the jau because of the tank and fishes location. I had to shoot from the top. They also had a wallagu attu and a few nice mystus wykii's. And what the hell is a hoplias aimara ??? Its only $999 :WHOA: Sorry for the poor quality pics.

Nice wallago. And for your question, a hoplias aimara is, so I believe, some sort of wolffish.

hoplias aimara is only one the baddest wolfish around.:naughty:

what do you mean one? it IS the baddest wolf fish around. grows to 5' with that wolf attitude. basically an un-active freshwater shark!

Hey that's a nice jau. Sorry to report that mine was lost 3 days ago due to a dead heater. He was belly up and the tank temp was 56 f. in the 1100 gal. I had 2 500w heaters. One broke the other couldn't keep up in the cold.

Add 2 more in there for some redundancy... it's the best way to ensure you don't have that happen again .. I would even put them on different breakers with a UPS if you have access to one...

I think the one broke from running continously during a cold snap, but I wraped the 1100 gal in insulation, and put a cover on it, and it seems to be fine now. I'll be building the larger pond soon so my fingers are crossed.

aimara's an extremly rare, large growing, very slow growing and aggresive wolffish. aorund 5' and 88 pounds is the record. about 7 in the entire u.s, 15-20" ones go for $2500-3000+
