Whats the cheapest way to heat 1000+gal ?

generally the more gallons you have it takes less in a way. for example i know someone running 1200w for 900g and it is fine. it takes longer for larger bodies of water to lose heat, so initially it might take a while to heat up, but it will be easier to maintain temp. but room temp and some other variables come into play. things like addequeate flow through-out your tank, usually accomplished by powerheads, and placing the heaters in the flow(in sump preferably) is best. i'd start with 2000w and if that isnt enough get more.

I have not used them but I think I am going to get the 800W and temp controller for my tank. Nice Christmas present for me. ;)
 
What the temperature differential or maybe better put, What's the room temp. and target tank temp.?

the calculator says i need like 850w to go from 18celcius to 27celcius
should i got for double? safety if 1 heater fails

you need a separate thermostat rated for the wattage you will want to control

oh i must have read wrong!!! i though there was no need for a thermostat at all with the heater u showed me :)
so how many watts do u think i need
