Got a new tank, 72x18x24, and I'm in the process of setting it up. for filteration im using an xp3 and a wet/dry. not sure of the size of the wet/dry yet. For lighting i thinking about going 2 shop lights with 2 4' bulbs each or the Christmas light idea, not sure which i want the tank to be bright. I'm currently getting my stand built, do with the frame and backing just need to finish the sides, doors, trim and stain.

I just have a question for right now, ill ask more if i can think of them:
For my wet/dry I'm using the pvc overflows, i have one 1" one built already, and i want to add another cause the one doesnt flow fast enough for my pump ( quiet one 4000). My questions is should I make another 1" or make a 1 1/4"

p.s. ill be posting pictures of the progress

I would add another 1" one on each each end. It just sounds more monster...lol Bump for you as well ;)

Sounds so familiar. I had a 135 that I had made two 1" pvc overflows for, using the exact same pump. Sold it recently.

Worked fine, however to get it perfectly silent, by the time I had the ball values closed enough it was too close for comfort (ie: was flowing slightly more than returning). I created a T on the return to flow some back to the pump just in case, ended up never really needing it, but would have liked more 'room for error', without going the route of returning back to the sump.

So if I had a chance to do it over again, I would have gone with 1-1/4".
